This one is long, long overdue. Especially since I’ll probably want to start learning songs from her latest album anyway.
I find this song really exhausting & difficult to do in one take. But Amanda says it’s OK if I’m not perfect. So let’s go with that.

Happy Phantom - Tori Amos Cover on Ukulele
Recorded in my drawing studio (hence the boxes and drawing boards in the background) with my brand new Blue Snowball microphone! Awesome birthday gift!
This is really the only Tori Amos song I can think of that sounds remotely appropriate on a uke. It was really hard to learn, but the first take came out near-perfect. So I am happy. Yay!

Trying out a new (borrowed) mic on this one. So, while you can actually HEAR me (which is new) this is a buzzy noise going on. Working on trying to make it better for next time. I appreciate your sticking with me, though.
I love this song so much. I listened to a lot of “oldies” with my parents when I was little and even then, most of my favorite songs were bittersweet…or downright bummers. (One of my favorite songs from childhood was “What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted”.) This song always stuck with me, even though I had to be much older to understand loving and hating someone at the same time.
Had a little trouble sticking the ending, as is the trouble with recorded songs that fade out. But, always having fun. That’s what matters, right? Hope you enjoy!

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted a video. I got a new job, got busy, got pneumonia (no, really), bought a ukulele, got better.
